UKTV – Droid Lab
We created a "world first" public installation featuring a holographic android that reacts to tweets from the public.
The installation, in support of a new British TV show called Almost Human, allows passers-by to tweet commands at the @droiddothis account, and the android will respond with actions such as breakdancing or pretending to be Neo from The Matrix. The android will also shake a finger at inappropriate requests. Tweeters receive a Vine of the android's actions.
The holographic system was created using live streaming and projections on a special see-through mesh. To no ones suprise it inspired both entertainment and submissive commands from the public.
